Based on sustainable and high quality performance in the first phase of Network Deployment, the Government of Punjab has once again selected Comstar to provide for the extension of their Network.

In the first Phase of Punjab Highway Patrol project a 5IF iDirect Hub was installed at the PITB Software Technology Park and Comstar successfully deployed terminals at 150 Punjab Highway Patrolling Posts all across Punjab in 2007.

Now, Punjab Highway Patrol, showing their continued trust, has selected Comstar™ for its second phase: an expansion of another 125 Punjab Highway Patrolling Posts all across Punjab, for Supply, Installation and Integration with iDirect 5IF Hub.

The PMU- PHPP Department was setup for the effective monitoring and inspection of Patrolling Posts of the Punjab province to ensure proficient and smooth working of patrolling police personnel. The remote patrolling sites and the head office are interconnected using VSAT based network comprised of VSAT Hub and Satellite dishes.

The Network will be used to provide real time broadband connectivity to remote areas in Punjab enabling applications like Video Surveillance, Internet, Intranet, Data Transfer etc.

Each remote site is equipped with iDirect router, Satellite dish, desktop computer and IP based indoor and outdoor cameras. The monitoring is carried out using software application that enables users at the head office to view the remote patrolling posts using indoor and outdoor cameras. The SAN servers at the head office are configured to store images of the remote sites on the daily basis.
